Networking specialist devolo has achieved international broadband accreditation from the DSL Forum, a worldwide consortium of 200 leading service providers, which establish standards for the entire Broadband DSL market.
All products in devolo's range are now TR 069 compatible,a technical standard defined by the DSL Forum, which allows remote configuration and diagnosis of all devices on a Broadband network.
This certification applies to all products in devolo's advanced HomePlug range, supporting high-definition multi-media entertainment and triple play services, and full multimedia home networking, including HDTV, video- streaming, and Internet telephony. The accreditation applies to devolo's latest product, the dLAN Wireless extender, which brings together the advantages of HomePlug and WLAN networking technologies for the first time in a single adaptor, supporting high- speed networking over existing electrical wiring and offering wireless access for mobile and laptop devices. The dLAN Wireless extender plug can be used in conjunction with PCs, laptops, Macs and game consoles and gives users the ability to access and share Internet resources from any room in the house via a wireless or Ethernet connection. The dLAN 200 AV HomePlug is also now TR 069 compatible, providing users with a high-speed broadband network connection at every power point in the house to support full multimedia home networking. As the market leader in in-house powerline technology, devolo sees this decision as an affirmation of its product policy. Heiko Harbers, CEO of devolo says, "We expected the DSL Forum to reach this decision. TR 069 is of special relevance to large-scale network operators such as telcos and ISPs and for this reason, our current HomePlug AV firmware already supports the TR 069 commands as specified by the DSL Forum. This makes all devolo HomePlug AV devices compatible with TR 069." |
